What is Digital Humanities? This is the study of the
Humanities such as; art, music, literature, and philosophy, in the digital
world and studying to see if it was digitally born or if it has been digitized
for everyone to have access to it. when I say digitally born I refer to it
being made of code from it origin and for digitized I mean that it was a picture
on a wall that you have to see in person at a museum or a book that you had to
go to the library to read that was coded to be accessible to everyone without
having to be there in person to have access to it. This new study take the
Humanities to the next level because there is more to what you see and by the I
mean that everything in the digital world is made up of code that is read using
ones and zeros in a pattern of "speech". If i came across someone who
did not know what Digital Humanities was I would tell them that it is the study
of humanities of the digital world and would compare this huge step for the
humanities as being like NASA putting a man on the moon. that might seem farfetched
but going to the digital world is huge for the humanities because it allows a
near limitless access to anything at anytime. this is my opinion on this relatively
new subject of study but I also know
that this is a small community of people that are interest in this and we are
all in to learn and explore this new and exciting subject to help it grow and
gain popularity for future generations to be able to study this subject. since
the interest is small we are like the pioneers for the new subject called
Digital Humanities
